A Prayer

John 1 says, “in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God Himself. He was continually existing in the beginning with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men.”

And…

Hebrews 11:3 says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Jesus, You are our word made flesh. You are our king of kings and our lord of lords. You are our great high priest, our bright and morning star. You drive back darkness and you have framed the universe with yourself. Everything good was created through you and by You. You are the God of the impossible. You are the God who creates something from nothing.

Jesus, you are able to heal compromised DNA because you cast sickness and death to the grave. You made our hearts of stone hearts of flesh. You took the files of trauma from our minds and replaced them with life. Through walking this earth and displaying the power of the Kingdom and a portion of what it contains, You showed us who our Father was. You showed us His true nature and our true nature. You showed us who we are to emulate and how natural that emulation could be.

Jesus, thank you for what you have done and are doing in our lives. Thank you that on the cross you delivered us from darkness, financial ruin, and relationship duress, and into freedom… because you came to set us free—we are no longer captives living in bondage to sin and death because who the son sets free is free indeed.

Thank you that our worlds are framed with the same living, breathing words of life that brought the universe into existence—those same words that frame our existence still… You. You frame us. You hem us in behind and before—we are surrounded by You. Filled by You. Loved by You.

Thank you that we can look through Your frame around our word and into our days. We can know that in You we are safe, that You never leave us, and that You are our shepherd who ensures we lack nothing.

Thank you that we can see things as You see them and that we can live our lives connected with You in power and love.

Amen
